About FixHomeCost
FixHomeCost helps homeowners work out what's wrong, fix what they safely can, and pay a fair price for the rest.
Who runs this site
FixHomeCost is an independent website founded and run by Chowdhury. It is not owned by a contractor, a manufacturer or a lead-generation company. You can reach Chowdhury directly at madridtik2025@gmail.com.
Why we built it
When a ceiling starts dripping or the breaker keeps tripping, most repair websites offer long articles and a phone number. We wanted something faster: a few questions that point to the likely cause, clear steps to deal with it safely, and honest price ranges so a quote doesn't come as a shock.
What you'll find here
- Step-by-step repair guides for roofing, basements, plumbing, heating and cooling, and electrical problems
- Problem finders that rank likely causes based on your answers
- Typical US cost ranges, a price adjuster by state and a quote checker
- A library of short answers to common homeowner questions
How the tools work
The problem finders, estimators and quote checker run in your browser. Your answers to those tools are not sent to us. The only information we receive is what you choose to send through a "Get quotes" request or by email; see our privacy policy.
Our standards
- We say clearly when a job is unsafe for DIY and when to call a licensed pro.
- Every guide shows when it was last reviewed.
- Many guides cite the published cost guides behind their prices. Newer guides show typical ranges compiled by FixHomeCost and say so on the page.
- We don't accept payment from contractors to change our advice or prices.
- We correct mistakes quickly. Read our editorial policy.
How we're funded
FixHomeCost is free to use. We may earn money from advertising and, in the future, from connecting homeowners who ask for quotes with local professionals. This never changes our cost ranges or advice.
